Human Resources Manager - Warrenton, MO

Qualifications Required:

 

Qualification 1:     Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university (masters degree preferred); and

Qualification 2:   five or more years of progressive human resources  experience; 

Qualification 3:     OR, in lieu of qualification 1, eight years of progressive experience as a human resources generalist.

Qualification 4:     Must have working knowledge of and practical experience with the “nuts and bolts” of HR and employment law including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, OWBPA, FLSA, FCRA, COBRA, HIPAA, AA, IRCA, OFCCP, WARN, USERRA, OSHA, workers compensation, recruiting/hiring, and HR recordkeeping. 

Qualification 5:     Supervisory experience preferred. 

Qualification 6:     Strong language skills:

o        ability to read and interpret documents such as statistical reports, procedural manuals, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations; 

o        ability to professionally write reports, business correspondence, policies and procedural instructions; 

o        ability to communicate clearly verbally and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, and government agents.

Qualification 7:     Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  Ability to compute percentages and draw and interpret graphs.   

Qualification 8:   Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 

Qualification 9:     Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Qualification 10:   PHR/SPHR &/or CLRP certification is preferred.  

 

Summary of Job Duties:

 

By partnering with location leadership, manages and executes the human resources functions for assigned group/s in a manner that best ensures achievement of the location’s and the company’s objectives.  Human resource functions include, but are not limited to, implementing Company HR policies, maintaining required employee related records, managing employee/labor relations, recruiting, wage and salary administration, training and development, providing miscellaneous administrative/accounting service and, where applicable, contract negotiations.

 

  • Responsible for administration of the Company’s Loss Prevention Program.  Keeps safety records and generates reports as required for governmental agencies, insurance carriers, and historical data analysis, insures that accident investigations are conducted in a timely manner and may participate in the safety program.
  • Ensure the location’s adherence to Company policies.  Acts as a resource to local managers on company policy and procedures.
  • Represents the organization at personnel related hearings and investigations. 
  • Administers plant labor contracts and job bid/layoff procedure.  Participates in labor contract negotiations, and participates in the grievance procedure
  • Develops positive working relationships with employees, managers, corporate officials, and, where applicable, labor organization representatives through employee relations programs, and superior interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Conducts thorough internal investigations to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Documents and, as appropriate, communicates findings and recommended actions. 
  • Recruits, interviews, and helps select employees to fill vacant hourly and salaried positions. 
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster a positive attitude toward company goals. 
  • Works with local management on employee development to include assisting managers with:
    • preparing comprehensive Development Plans to improve performance;
    • identifying appropriate training resources;
    • properly addressing and documenting poor performance and inappropriate conduct situations.
  • Keeps records of insurance coverage, pension plan, and personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations.  Keeps records of hired employee characteristics as required for governmental reporting purposes.  Ensures the security and, as appropriate, the confidentiality of records.
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation. 
  • Reports on absenteeism and turnover.  Recommends process changes to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
  • Communicates employee benefit plans throughout the organization and acts as the clearing house for questions presented to same.
  • Ensures the proper completion of all training documentation and training records maintenance in compliance with our ISO/TS procedures. 
  • May be responsible for processing the payroll and for submissions to the accounting/payroll functions.
  • Responsible for ensuring regular, timely, and accurate communication with all reports to improve morale and foster an information-sharing work environment.
  • Fosters an atmosphere of regular, timely and accurate communication with all employees to improve morale and foster an information-sharing work environment.
